Trading on margin carries a high level of risk
Foreign exchange, gold and other contracts for difference are traded with leverage. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses, and you can lose money quickly, including more than you expected when prices gap. These products may not be suitable for everyone. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Expert advisors and indicators are tools, not guarantees
An expert advisor follows fixed rules. It can't foresee news, changes in market behaviour or changes in your broker's conditions, and it keeps trading the same way when those rules stop working. Indicators show calculations from past prices; they don't predict future ones. No tool on this site is promised or guaranteed to make a profit.
Backtests and past performance
Backtests and track records describe the past. They can be distorted by data quality, unrealistic spreads, missing commission and slippage, and settings tuned to the tested period. Live results often differ from tested ones, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Our guide to evaluating an expert advisor explains what to look for.
Higher-risk strategies
Some strategies, including grid, martingale and averaging-down systems, can show smooth profits for long periods and then lose a large part of an account in a single trend. Understand how a tool manages losing positions before you use it. Read more in our grid and martingale guide.
Test before you trade live
- Run any new tool on a demo account first, with your broker's real conditions.
- Decide your risk per trade and your maximum drawdown in advance. Our free calculators help you size positions to those limits.
- Start live with the smallest size you can and increase it only when live results match the demo.
- Keep checking: switch a tool off if it behaves differently from its tests or exceeds its expected drawdown.
No financial advice
Everything on this site, including the guides, calculators, product descriptions and messages from our Telegram assistant, is general information for educational purposes. It is not financial, investment or tax advice and doesn't take your personal situation into account. If you need advice, speak to a qualified, independent adviser.
Calculators
Our calculators use standard formulas and reference exchange rates that may differ from your broker's live prices, contract sizes and pip definitions. Always check a calculation against your trading platform before you rely on it.
